13 Free Apps that make living in Perth even better!

Both Apple and Android’s Google Play Stores offer a range of apps that are great for no matter where you live in the world. Everything to make doing tasks in the modern day easier, faster and funner! With this list, we start out with the aps that are available across both platforms and then break off and show you what is only available for Apple and only available for Android.

Perth Airport App

If you have ever been to Perth Airport, you will know that arrivals times can vary wildly, and thanks to the new parking and stopping rules, there is little room for error! You don’t want to be caught out waiting for a delayed flight, or to miss picking up your loved one at the correct gate. Checkout what time flights are coming and going at Perth Airport with their own app, and get a sense for arrival times by checking on the live tracking on flights inbound. This App also tells you gate numbers, parking availability and costs, and gives you exclusive offers for food and shopping when you are waiting to fly or are arriving!

Google Maps

Although it might seem straightforward that you would use the free Google Maps app that comes pre-loaded on your Android phone, you might not be aware of the extra things we have available to us here in Perth when we use it! Google Maps automatically updates the traffic status of congestion on your route by using data from other users, as well as syncing with Main Roads. This allows you to avoid un-expected congestion and seek alternative routes!

Perth is also one of the cities in Australia that has lots of Google Street view! Whether you are visiting a house for the first time or you are seeking one out, you can Google-stalk it first and work out what it really looks like by using the Google Streetview function. By using the directions function in Google Maps, you can also quickly calculate route times based on real data, not just calculated distances!

With all that information at the end of your fingertips, and so much of it made especially for Perth, what are you going to do first!?
