Catherine relayed her feelings about acclimatising to our weather. She said 'What we found challenging when our family arrived in Perth, was adjusting to the Australian climate. Having now experienced a Perth summer, with some days reaching 40 degreees celsius, we were grateful that we were made aware of this before our arrival."

"Another curious experience was going to the beach for the first time. When we arrived, it was confusing having to swim 'in between the flags'. We learnt that most popular beaches have a designated area easily recognisable by red and yellow flags, which is patrolled by experienced lifesavers who volunteer their time to help keep our beaches safe. It's fantastic for parents to know that the kids (and us) can swim in these areas knowing we are truly safe."
